Turn a photo into playable sheet music

Photograph printed music or upload a PDF. Read the recognized notes, listen to the score and download MusicXML, using the same scanner as Legato.

A better photo, a better scan

Use printed notation. Handwritten music and lyrics-only pages are not reliable inputs.
Lay the page flat in bright, even light. Avoid glare and shadows.
Hold the camera straight above it. Keep every clef, staff line and page edge in view.
Check focus before uploading. Retake a blurred photo rather than expecting the scanner to repair it.

Your files and results

The selected file is sent to our shared recognition service only after you choose Scan. Photos are re-encoded on your device to remove location metadata; PDFs are uploaded unchanged.

A scan reference is saved in this browser, separately for each account. This is not a synced sheet library. Delete the scan here when finished; clearing browser storage can lose its recovery reference.

The original photo preview is available only while this page stays open. Scanning is not a guarantee of accurate transcription.
